Barrier Systems Case Studies

Suncorp Stadium and The Gabba

For several years now we have been servicing two of the most prestigious stadiums in Australia. We work very closely with Brisbane City Council and Translink to provide a safeand fun experience for everyone attending the games at Suncorp Stadium and the Gabba.

On all event days we supply and install up to 8 variable message signs around Brisbane City informing and directing people to the stadiums. We also use the signs to direct traffic around the city and make people aware of potential road closures and possible delays.

We supply and install 200-250 water fillable barriers in surrounding streets to assist in directing pedestrians to and from the game safely. We fit the barriers with fences to delineate the pedestrians and the traffic safely.

On event days we have a specialised team that install, fill and remove the barriers. We also have the team working with the Queensland Police Service during the game to ensure the Queensland Fire Department and the Ambulance Department have a clear access through the barriers to attend emergency calls.

Formula 1 GP

Over the last 7 years one of the highlights in our events calendar has been the Formula1 GP in Melbourne. We supply over 1000 barriers around the city and Albert Park. We deploy our barriers the month leading up to the GP and the highlight of the weekend is supplying barriers down the pit straight and the go-kart track.

We have enjoyed working with one of our trusted partners, Fulton Hogan Pty Ltd, on several of our Melbourne events including the V8 Supercars and the MOTO GP at Philip Island.

Melbourne Marathon

Since the mid 2000’s we have been responsible for supplying water fillable barriers for the Melbourne Marathon. We supply in excess of 1000 barriers to guide the runners around the gruelling 42k track. These barriers not only ensure competitor safety but also spectator safety as well. Our Event Management Team install and remove the barriers before and after the event.

Barrier Systems has also worked with Big Dog Events in Queensland on the weetbix kids marathons.

ANZAC Day Parade / Labour Day Parade

Every year on Anzac Day we lay out 2.1 kilometres of pedestrian temporary fencing throughout the Brisbane CBD. We also supply 40 water-fill barriers working once again with the city council to ensure the safety of everyone involved marching through the city and the general public.

We have a dedicated team working throughout the night installing and relocating the fences. We then have a small period of time once the event is over in which to remove the fences ready to reopen the CBD. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver the best service and solutions available.
